Jack Braby, Obituary (Elementary Principal)
MY LAST FACEBOOK POST
This is Jack Braby letting all my friends know that my game clock ran out of time on February 6, 2022 at 12:10 pm in Huntington Beach, California. When the final buzzer went off, I was sleeping peacefully and my favorite son Mike, was by my side.
I was born in Mt. Ayr, Iowa in 1933, rode a horse to school. I played football and basketball and went to Graceland College. I met the love of my life, Lois at Graceland. Lois was ejected from the game far too early in 2009 on a technicality.
I’m survived by my brother Chuck. I’m blessed to be able to tell you that all my kids are still kickin’ as well.
Vicki Beebe, my first born, blessed me with a grandson Aaron and he in turn gave me two amazing great granddaughters, Raelynn who is a musician, singer and dancer and Everleigh who is crazy-spooky smart.
My second child, Jack Jr. ended up being a girl so Jacquie Bethel blessed me with my first grandchild, Sara and my first grandson Joshua. Sara awarded me with my first great grandchild, Maya Renee (my In-n-Out buddy) and followed with two more beautiful great-granddaughters, Makenna and Karsyn. Makenna loves golf (like me) and Karsyn collects hot wheel cars (like me). Joshua gave me a great grandson Tristan and great granddaughter Adison who is also a beautiful dancer. Tristan is already taller than me and is a skate board whizz.
Mike Braby, my youngest, provided me two more fantastic grandkids, Alorn and Kyle. Alorn gave me a great grandson Konner who also likes hot wheel cars and Kyle gave me two of the cutest great granddaughters, Emma and Claire.
From that bunch, I enjoyed having even more kids. Steve, Paul and Evelyn. I got extra grandkids, Alison and Megan, Peggy, Melanie, Sheraz, Precia, David and Kaelee. I also gained extra great grands, Azlynn, Cora, Vera, Atom, Issac, Logan and Dashiell.
I’ve been blessed to call the whole brood as my family.
I have been a member of the Community of Christ my entire life. My church family has been very important in my life and I want to give a final high five to my congregation in Gardena, CA. They are my brothers and sisters.
God was good to me. I was lucky to be a son, a husband, dad, Grandpa Jack, and Poppa Jack. I was lucky enough to be “teacher” to hundreds and “coach” to a passel more. To all the kids that were in my class, or in my school when I was principal (even if I sent you to detention) or on one of my teams I coached, it was truly an honor and a pleasure to have known you all.
Please don’t send any cards. I never was a big reader and I’m not going to start now. I can’t smell flowers now so don’t send any of those either. If you want to do something nice for me, how about you send a donation to one of my favorite charities, Outreach International.
