Track Facilities Opening Activities

Students and staff celebrated the opening of the NH Track Facility this morning with a jog around the track to celebrate. Dr. Willhite talked to the students about the work that has gone into this long awaited project and about the rules for people using the facility. Students thanked all of the volunteers on Mrs. Smith's Facebook Live recording and the band performed two of their marching band numbers.

Dr. Willhite encourages the public to use this wonderful new facility and to please observe the following rules when doing so to protect the track surface:

The North Harrison track will be open for public use beginning at 3:45 today, Wednesday, October 7! We encourage the community to use the track, but we do ask you to follow these rules:

The track is open from daylight until 7:45 a.m and from 3:45 p.m. until dark Monday - Friday.
On weekends, holidays, and days school is not in session, the track is open from daylight until dark.
During track season, the track will be closed to the public during track practice.
Enter the track from the west side. There is a walk-through gate near the south end of the west side of the track. If this gate is locked, the track is not available. If you drive to the school to use the track, use the parking lot on the west side of the track. Access to this parking lot is gained between the west side of the high school and the ball field.
Soft soled shoes (NO cowboys boots, hard heels, etc
Nothing with wheels (No bikes, strollers, atvs, etc)
No gum, drinks, food, sunflower seeds, etc.
No public use during school hours
