James William Frazier Obituary (Class of 1978)

James William Frazier

Jamie Frazier, 57, formally of Edwardsville, Illinois passed away unexpectedly due to a blood clot in his lung on September 25, 2017, at the home of his sister in Mexico, Missouri.

Jamie was given the gift of life on May 6, 1960.

He attended Edwardsville schools through his freshman year. At that time, Jamie and his two younger siblings were welcomed into the home of their aunt and uncle, Barbara and Basil Craig, Eagleville, Missouri as their guardian parents. Jamie learned about the farm life. He graduated from North Harrison High School in 1978. Jamie attended college at the University of Missouri—Columbia where he studied Ag Economics. He was a member of the Farmhouse Fraternity.

Jamie enjoyed competing in sports throughout his school years. In addition, he made the cheerleading squad at Mizzou. In 1990, Jamie returned to Edwardsville and bought the Frazier family home that his parents built in 1964; he remained there until 2015.

He generously welcomed his family and friends home to visit. Throughout his career, Jamie worked in various positions as a marketer, stockbroker and senior bank loan officer. He was actively involved with the Immanuel United Methodist Church for several years.

Jamie’s favorite activities were: caring for his horses and pets, hunting, doing yard work, listening to music, cooking, watching T.V. and spending time with family and friends. In addition, Jamie’s commitment and passion for the Mizzou Tigers and his beloved St. Louis Cardinals were matchless and easily documented by his frequent posts in social media.

Jamie yielded a special gentleness, yet he was fearless when presented with a challenge. He had a keen sense of humor that was demonstrated by his teasing comments, jokes and distinguishable chuckle. The stories Jamie loved to share remind us that the little details combined with the love he had for family and friends are what make life great.

A celebration of life will be held at the Immanuel United Methodist Church, Edwardsville on Saturday, September 30th. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Immediately following will be the Memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, Bethalto, Illinois.

Online condolences may be made at www.arnoldfh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support the memory of Jamie Frazier at an established page for him at www.gofundme.com.
